Production company Familia are thrilled to be welcoming David Mellor to their roster for representation in the UK, USA & Netherlands.

David Mellor started his directing career in a slightly different way than most in this industry. Infact, Mellor started his directing career in a post house.
Mellor quickly rose up the ranks of Framestore London, where he helmed VFX Supervision for many years, working on Hollywood blockbusters like Harry Potter, Thunderbirds and Troy.
After leaving heads scratching with his technical boundary pushing, one being his pioneering use of CG fur, feather and fluid simulations, Mellor crossed the pond to become the Creative Director of Framestore Chicago (as well as tenures as Technical Director and Head of CG. In this time Mellor also built VR into his expansive repertoire, creating live action experiential content for Marriott, Volvo and Chick-Fil-A.
After knowing basically all there is to know about (practically) every facet of VFX, Mellor’s unrelenting curiosity and creativity lead him to try his hand at directing as well, naturally. Since his directorial debut with LEGO in 2019, Mellor is widely considered one of the most innovative, stylistically seamless VFX-focussed directors currently working in the industry
