Emilie Thalund chooses HENRY for French representation
Thalund recently directed a film for the capsule collection between IKEA and Virgil Abloh.
The Copenhagen-based director Emilie Thalundis joining top French production company HENRY.
Her work travelled internationally for the first time in 2018 when she won a YDA at Cannes for her film Period – a bold and artistic take on a topic that is virtually a taboo worldwide. Since then, she has continued to create strong visual narratives and has already offered her talent to numerous brands, including Pandora and IKEA.
Notably, she directed a film for the recent capsule collection between IKEA and Virgil Abloh.
Before focussing on directing, Emilie studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts where she obtained a Masters in Art &; Architecture. She worked in the art sector before assisting the noteworthy director Martin Werner, then eventually directing her own films. Her work and the composition of her images also reflect her background, mixing genres and creating bridges between narratives, places and pictures.
“For me it all came down to the people. And the people at Henry are the finest kind. I feel very fortunate to join their roster and I am excited to dust off my French and see what kind of great things we can create together." says Emilie on joining Henry.
For Hugo Diaz, EP at Henry: “We’re very pleased to be able to work with Emilie. She has so much talent and a rare sensitivity. Her arrival further reinforces the links that we have with our Scandinavian partners from BACON and the desire to co-develop directors through advertising as well as other forms of content like music videos or brand content.”
