Elysian Brewing skewers the holidays

Agency Tongal and production company Dessert Before Dinner, create an amusing campaign for Seattle-based Elysian Brewing. 

Plenty of ads take a warm and cozy approach to the holiday season, but not this year, they’ve released a series of social spots showing what happens when a group of friends unexpectedly arrive, after a series of blunders take place for our party host.

“We wanted to bring snuggly holiday visuals and tone, while having these gaffs take place,” says director Andy Kelemen. “The brand was really open to great collaboration on this one.” 

In addition to the hero spot, a series of cutdowns featuring the scenes of shrinking your holiday sweater, burning your favourite meal, dealing with malfunctioning holiday lights, and dealing with your giant dog crashing the party all take place.

With this comedic message, Elysian aims to cut through the holiday clutter on their social platforms, and continue with their offbeat messaging. It follows on the heels of their series of summer spots, showing the pain points of going back to the office.
