Duncan Russell joins MPC’s London studio as senior colourist
The acclaimed colourist brings his talent to the studio’s colour department.

Moving Picture Company (MPC) welcomes Duncan Russell to the London studio, as he brings with him a wealth of experience after stints at Glassworks, VTR, Prime Focus, Smoke and Mirrors and most recently as Head of Grading at Freefolk.
Duncan’s portfolio of notable work includes grades for the Suzuki Dodgems spot directed by Noah Harris and last year’s embroidered tapestry animation for the BBC World Cup. Other career milestones include remastering Citizen Kane and Mean Streets, grading for legendary DP Jack Cardiff, and promo’s for Madonna, Kanye West, Alt-J and Nicki Minaj.
Duncan described his move to the studio: “I'm thrilled to be joining the legendary Colour department at MPC. The goings on that I imagined taking place behind the smoked glass on Wardour Street have always intrigued me. It feels like I'm playing football at Wembley Stadium, darts at Frimley Green or caber tossing on Arthurs Seat; MPC has always seemed the Home of Colour and I'm itching to get cracking.”
Welcoming Duncan into the team at MPC, Global Creative Director of Colour Grading Jean-Clément Soret said: “Duncan has been a well known talent on the London scene for a number of years, I am excited that the stars aligned and we finally get to work together. His experience, creativity and enthusiasm is a great addition to our team”.
