Last year saw the introduction of Dr Rick, the self-proclaimed world’s leading expert on parentology who aims to help homeowners everywhere to overcome Parentamorphosis, the affliction of turning into ones parents.
Now, everyone's favourite parentologist is back in two new spots, once again created by Arnold Worldwide Boston and directed by Moxie Pictures' Martin Granger. These two new spots, called Dr. Rick’s Methods [above] and Seminar [below], see Dr. Rick addressing groups of Parentamorphosis sufferers on topics such as: not having to grunt just to sit down; how to pronounce “quinoa”; printing out driving directions; and what #hashtagging is.
“The insight behind this campaign was incredibly relevant when this campaign first launched,” said Sean McBride, Chief Creative Officer at Arnold. “But, after spending the last 10 months at home, many of us probably feel like we need Dr. Rick more than ever. I certainly do. I’ve started to speak the names of species of birds out loud when I see them in my yard. Sometimes I direct this information at my children, who definitely don’t care. But I’m equally likely to do it when I’m alone. Also, I’m not remotely interested in birds. Help me Dr. Rick. Did you guys know there are 10 different species of Blue Jay in North America?”
