Passport and Director Bobby Sheehan Join Forces for Future Projects

Passport documentary director Bobby Sheehan.

Passport Films has signed Bobby Sheehan for commercial and branded content projects. "Bobby is a multi-talented and multi-faceted director," says Passport Partner and EP Patti Coulter.  "His diverse background is a perfect fit for commercials and branded content.  "It's like this business has finally caught up with Bobby!"

Sheehan has directed, written, produced and DP'd a range of documentaries, features, reality TV shows and branded content programs. His first foray into the features was "Seed."

Sheehan later coined the phrase "docufantasy" to describe his love letter to the arts: "Arias With A Twist: The Docufantasy."  This feature profiles two artists – Joey Arias and Basil Twist.  Sheehan's "Listen To The World" is a feature documentary about the first-ever museum to house instruments from all over the world, and "I Thee Wed" is a short film for the United Nations featuring their Goodwill Ambassador Gisele about the importance of preserving the planet.

Sheehan wrote, produced and directed the film "Cayman Went," a narrative feature about a fictitious hero forced to become a real hero.  In development are "Standing 8" and "Blur," two companion films that are both semi-autobiographical and deal with the struggles of being part of the New York underclass desperately looking for hope.  He is currently in post on "Doctored," a feature length documentary, and he recently produced, directed and wrote the original series "Motor City Rising" for Ovation.

Sheehan's television credits include "The Talent Collector," which he wrote, produced and directed for AMC; the reality series "Repo Men," starring, Vincent Pastore; and the documentaries "Jeff Koons: Beyond Heaven" and "Mr. Prince," a tribute to the Broadway director Hal Prince.

He's been directing commercials for over a decade, shooting for a wide range of brands and agencies both in the US and in Canada. In addition to his fim work, he's also a fine art photographer whose work has been exhibited nationally in galleries such as Bridgewater Lustburg in New York, Stephen Cohen Gallery in Los Angeles and the Vision Gallery in San Francisco.  He graduated from the NYU film program at the Tisch School of the Arts.

Based in New York, Sheehan and his wife and executive producer/partner own Long Format Production and the editorial company Working Pictures.  Passport is aligning with Working Pictures to co-produce some long format projects and branded content TV shows.
