Deutsche Telekom's new Christmas campaign features some of the usual festive touches; snow-lined streets, perfectly made snowmen, and a Christmassy soundtrack.
But this two-minute spot also aims for a more serious message, one of breaking barriers to foster togetherness. Created by MUW Saatchi & Saatchi Bratislava and directed by Alex Feil through Armada Films, the spot shows two young girls - one with elfin ears, the other with a Dr Seuss-like nose - playing together, but also separated by an unusual glass wall, each trapped in their own bubble.
Both children's parents seem upset that the girls have formed a bond and discourage it, but their desire to grow their nascent friendship is so strong that they decide the only way forward is to bring the glass barrier down.
'Connections begin when barriers break' reads the endline, as we're shown why they were separated in the first place.
