Cyberpunk 2077’s code red

Directed by Michal Misinski and produced by Juice Studio, this enigmatic film conjures the spy thriller narrative of Phantom Liberty and enhances the melancholic strains of Dawid Podsiadlo’s song in eerie tones of black and red. 

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is the DLC expansion to the CD Projekt Red game Cyberpunk 2077. This promo's story merges the game’s familiar, dark-future world with the cyberspace realm through a combination of live-action footage and CGI that breathes life into the game’s character, So Mi.

Michał Misiński explains: „This approach allowed for the conveyance of authentic emotions and added depth to the character. The live-action shoot included the addition of cyberware mechanical body elements, created through SFX makeup and later enriched by CGI. These enhancements seamlessly integrated the actor with the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, making the character come to life on screen. 

CG supervisor Jakub Wrzalik added: “In the script, So Mi is being connected to the world that infects her, all that you see after she plugs into the Net we developed in full CGI. Everything there is a projection from within the Net, which is an important element of Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty expansion.”
