Cut+Run London add Meg Thorne to it’s editor roster
Cut+Run London have promoted assistant Editor Meg Thorne to Editor.
Editor Meg Thorne joined the Cut + Run/London edit house as an assistant in 2015 from post-production studio The Farm, and has since been honing her skills under the close mentorship of Edit partners Julian Tranquille and James Rose, in-suite and on-set.
“It’s been superb to see Meg flourish from being my assistant to an editor,” says Cut+Run’s Julian Tranquille. “She has an amazing, natural flair for editing, she’s an inspiration and we are all so excited to see her take the next step.”
Meg has collaborated regularly with director and choreographer Holly Blakey, editing a number of acclaimed, dance-led projects for brands including Swoon and Christie’s. Her 2017 promo for Everything Everything’s Can’t Do, directed by Blakey, earned Meg a Best Editor nomination at the Kinsale Sharks Awards and was shortlisted across categories at the UK Music Video Awards.
"After working here for years across many exciting projects, I couldn't be happier to become an Editor at Cut & Run," says Meg. "I've never worked somewhere that's felt like more of a family and am excited to see what the future holds”.
Meg recently edited Sparrow, a narrative short, which was directed by Ali Kurr. Launched at this year’s BFI Flare, London’s LGBTQ+ Film Festival, it was included in the official selection at the London Short Film Festival, and was shortlisted at Underwire, the UK’s largest film festival celebrating female talent across the crafts.
Meg has edited films for clients including Samsonite, Tommy Hilfiger, 888 Sport and Veet, and has cut music videos for Lily Allen, Mabel, Jessie Buckley, Peter Perrett and Amber Simone, amongst others.
