Cut to the chase

Produced by Eddy, the newest animated short from Olivier Lescot is gripping and tense.

With comic-book style illustrations, The Rift follows an intense car-chase – the movement of the film only pauses at the very beginning as it lingers on a mysterious briefcase.

The animation is black and white apart from the car headlights and bullets, which create the only bit of beaming yellow colour, keeping in line with the plot’s dark themes and exhilarating moments.

The short is stunning in its textures, and shading, providing striking graphics that play through a dramatic soundtrack.
