London-based production company COMPULSORY has announced the appointment of Stephanie Walton as Head of New Business & Development.

Joining the team following her role formerly as Head of Marketing & PR at globally-recognised production company Somesuch, Stephanie will be working closely with Partner and Executive Producer Kadri Mahmoud to expand on COMPULSORY’s profile in the commercial industry - collating her industry wide network in both advertising and film to their promising roster of directors.

Prior to her role at Somesuch, Stephanie began working across the film industry. During her time as Community & Partnerships Manager at global film streaming platform WeAreColony, Stephanie worked on online marketing campaigns for films such as Yorgos Lanthimos' The Lobster and Crystal Moselle's The Wolfpack. Her career also includes stints at the filmmakers network, Shooting People and The Salt Company.

Partner and Executive Producer Kadri Mahmoud says:

We welcome Stephanie into the family with open arms. Her experience in both the commercial and narrative film world will be a huge asset to us, as these are the two fastest growing areas of our business. Her attitude represents exactly the type of person we respect and admire and I look forward to seeing our relationship grow into something special for COMPULSORY.

Stephanie Walton says: “COMPULSORY's growth over the last few years has been a joy to watch and it's an even bigger joy for me to be a part of that team now, and see what we can achieve together. Their relevance and proximity to London&s culture is apparent in absolutely everything they make. On top of that, their ability to keep uncovering new talent around each corner is something I really admire. I am passionate about nurturing young directors and COMPULSORY have proved their dedication to talent management in its short few years in the industry - particularly in commercials, which I will be focusing on.”
