London based CMN PPL FLMS have recently signed Spanish director NYSU for representation in the UK.
NYSU’s is the master of subtle and not-so-subtle comedy filmmaking and has made commercials for Fanta, RedBull, Amazon, Alaska Airlines, Burger King, Ubisoft and Heineken in recent years. His first love was music videos where he has worked with New Order, Bastille, Archive, Wild Beast, Philip Selway (Radiohead’s Drummer solo project) VCMG (Depeche Mode’s Martin Gore solo project) becoming one of the best music video directors of his generation.
Emily Crofton-Atkins says: “An instantly likeable and hilarious quality to NYSU’s work. It’s all about the execution and meticulous planning prior to filming for NYSU. His creative mind and humorous sensibility allow him to really push boundaries, always striving for the best possible outcome. Being Spanish but fluent in English and having directed all over the world, he’s very adaptable between markets. We’re delighted to welcome him to the team.”
NYSU adds: “So glad to be back in the UK hand-in-hand with Common People. From our very first conversation I felt they were the perfect translators to apply my visual language in the British market. Emily, Ramy and Tony have created a safe space for creativity balancing my non-usual ideas with their smart and experienced execution. So, as Mel C said... “if you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends. Make it last forever, friendship never ends.”
