Milan-based production studio Sincromie has launched, in collaboration with Rai, this imaginative, mixed-style animation marking the 2023 Cartoons on the Bay Pulcinella Awards – a festival held in Italy rewarding excellence in television, film and cross-media animation.
Produced by a varied crew of more than 20 artistic professionals, the fast-paced and colourful film combines 3D, cel animation, motion graphics, and photogrammetry, to follow a designer through the ups and downs of a magical journey depicting his creative process.
Antonio Soraci, creative director of Sincromie, explained: "What happens to our hero during his journey? He becomes disoriented, looks for points of reference, surprises himself, gets lost, finds the courage to make his own choices and carries on his personal creative process, as happens to anyone who works with the tool of imagination. Only a mixed techniques work could render the variety of sensations experienced during the creative process”.
