Cabin Editing Company announced the addition of Nick Divers as both a partner and editor in its New York office.

In addition to his creative work, Divers brings long-standing client relationships and an eye for emerging talent, and he will work closely with Managing Director Maggie Meade to continue growing the successful office, which opened in 2021.

“Cabin’s New York office has been growing at a rapid clip, building out a stellar roster of editors, delivering incredible work, and earning industry accolades,” shared Meade. “Cabin has always been known as a destination for creative storytelling, and we’re very excited to have Nick bringing his deep experience with comedy to build upon that legacy. He has a knack for embracing the multi-layered and sometimes messy human experience in his work to great effect, and he’s also a leader who has a proven track record of building close relationships with directors, agencies, and talent alike.”

Divers is an award-winning comedy editor who excels at capturing the emotional core of any story in a way that is relatable and resonant. Originally from Pittsburgh, he graduated from New York University with a degree in film production, and from there jumped right into advertising with a two-year stint at Droga5 as the agency’s in-house video editor. He then joined renowned editorial shop Mackcut in 2011, where he honed his craft assisting Ian MacKenzie and ultimately made a name for himself as a go-to editor for top directors including Jess Coulter, Aaron Stoller, and David Shafei.

He also became a partner at Mackcut in 2020. Divers has worked with countless brands during his career, crafting memorable projects including Burger King’s Whopper Detour and Oreo’s Doomsday Vault, among many others. His work has earned dozens of awards, notably including the Cannes Titanium Grand Prix, Clio Grand, Grand Effie, D&AD Graphite Pencil, and The One Show Best of Discipline.

“I believe that great storytelling begins with relationships and collaboration built on trust. Maggie, Carr, and the whole Cabin team's commitment to this same ethos has been a huge factor in their success,” said Divers. “I’m thrilled to be joining the team in a way where I can contribute to holistically building out the culture and clientele of the New York office. It’s a rare opportunity to come into a place in its early days and help to shape its evolution, especially with leadership and talent that’s already so well respected, and I’m very excited to jump in.”
