Nexus Studios announce the signing of Bonnie Taylor Forsyth to its roster of world-class talent. Forsyth’s thoughtful and commercially-focused approach to fluid animation allows her to create striking visuals and compelling stories, hitting the mark with every brief.

Forsyth found her directorial voice while working as a 2D animator at Nexus' sister studio in Sydney; Mighty Nice. Mentored by Mighty Nice Executive Creative Director and Founder, Darren Price, she harnessed her talent for creating snappy, surprising bursts of animation in a range of styles, while playing with creative camera transitions.

Forsyth’s portfolio includes work for commercial juggernauts like Apple, Nike, ReMarkable and J Balvin along with local talent Heaps Gay, SummerCamp Festival, VIVID, the AEC & Victoria Bitters. Her first film received a nomination for Best Short Animated Film at The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards and a recent award in the Emerging Director of the Year category at the AWARD Awards, APAC's most prestigious creative awards program, Forsyth’s work has been screened internationally at over 20 film festivals.

Forsyth has recently directed two films as part of an animated docu-series, produced at Nexus Studios in partnership with the global charity, Room to Read, which will be released later this year.

Diverse representation is an integral part of Forsyth’s practice both on screen and behind the scenes. As a proudly queer female Director, based on Bruny Island (Nuenonne Lands), Tasmania, she is committed to nurturing and championing new voices in the industry.

“Bonnie is an exciting new directorial voice coming up in the industry. Her versatile and fluid approach to 2D animation means she always hits the brief, crafting vibrant and compelling stories for every project. We're thrilled she's joining our roster.” said Chris O’Reilly, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Nexus Studios.
