A born and bred Yorkshire man, Andy Saunders had originally intended to become a pilot, but his incredible eye for detail drew him into the world of photography and film.

His work is underpinned by the strong use of light and colour to create visually strong spots and his naturalistic approach delivers uncontrived and beautiful work which has become his trademark.

Across his directing career he has excelled within a multitude of genres from fashion & lifestyle, performance, and spots including complex CGI interactions, for brands including Adidas, Bentley, Dr Oetker, Durex, Jet2, Orange, P&O and UEFA.

His passion for shooting food started with the opportunity to work on the Kevin the Carrot campaign for Aldi, and over time he has gone on to direct a multitude of complex food and performance spots for Asda, Co-op, John West, Napolina, Nestlê, and a trailer for the BBC’s The Great British Bake Off.

Alex Katz, Co-Founder, BITE Food Film Collective said: “We are delighted that Andy has decided to join us. His hands-on and collaborative approach means he will always get the most out of a project, whether it’s tabletop, performance led or technically challenging, and we look forward to working with him”.

Saunders adds: “If you’re looking for the most passionate ‘foodies’ out there, then surely BITE takes top honours. To now be part of their roster of Directors is a pretty exciting opportunity for me and  I’m really looking forward to working with them”.
