Magnetic, pensive, and deeply emotional, Berwyn’s documentary promo reflects on his time spent living out of a car.
Distilling a sharp moment of hopelessness and audacity, 100,000,000 creates a world that revolves around Berwyn, constantly surrounding him, enclosing him. It’s claustrophobic, phrenetic, and wonderful. Without ever really moving too far away from the car that serves as the set, the camera rotates, twists, and turns, as if caught in car crash that can’t look away from Berwyn.
The promo is remarkable in its lack of pretension, stripped-down moments highlighting the artists’ aching lyrics. Directed by LOOSE, the promo was technically challenging, with a massive amount of props used during the single-shot video, which was captured in a single day. With slick editing, production company Stink Rising has created a video that is grounded in reality and explores the surreal.
