Raised on the flat fields of Stevns in Denmark, Bertil Vorre soon developed a keen eye for the odd and the quirky in everyday life.

His work spans multiple genres, typically seasoned with sharp humour and a dash of the absurd. In his recent spot for EPOS an extraterrestrial goes full ‘Karen’ as she berates a blameless security guard, her head literally swelling with entitlement. His ad for UNICEF features a host of ordinary folk hooting and screeching animal calls to action across the city.

It’s this surreal and witty sensibility that brought Vorre to the attention of Hobby Film, which is no stranger to the weird and wonderful itself.

As HOBBY founder Oskar Bård pointed out: “Bertil’s work is like strange, weird, beautiful music that I can’t get out of my head, and don’t want to. I’m very excited he’s bringing his unique comic voice to the HOBBY chorus.”

The feeling is very much mutual. "I'm really excited about joining the Hobby family!” said Vorre. “As a director, I absolutely love working with mixed media, animation, and diving into VFX, often with a good dose of comedy, something that I know Hobby is really skilled at.”

Vorre’s own skills have seen him rack up a series of awards in recent years, including a nomination for 'True Talent' at Denmark’s prestigious True Awards and a UKMVA nomination in 2022.
