Berlin Commercial Festival 2021 winners announced
After a week of events throughout the city, which kicked off with screening sessions at the legendary Babylon Cinema in Berlin, a digital presentation announced this year’s winners.
How much the creative and advertising film scene has longed for real encounters after one and a half years of Corona could be seen last week in the German capital: The Berlin Commercial Festival hosted its third edition with a series of free in-person networking events at which - In line with the Covid guidelines put in place by the government, directors, producers, agents and journalists had the chance to meet, mingle and discover new creative work in an intimate, yet safe environment.
Instead of gathering many people in one place, the Berlin Commercial Festival took place as a satellite Event with many smaller events across town realized together with partners from the German advertising film industry. The hosts included Bonaparte, Cobblestone and Gravel Studio, Radical Media, Rekorder, Totalli Talent Agency, VC: X Agency and production company Goodhouse Films, whose party rounded off the event week.

Keeping up with the festival’s motto: "The Age of Collaboration" - now implemented for the consecutive time - the platform stays as inclusive and as accessible as it gets, while aiming for the highest standard curating jury line-up and films running in the awards competition, which has made the festival a popular meeting place for the advertising film scene.

In the entire competition one entry stood out winning five of the prizes, music video Room With A View, which the French producer Rone made together with the artist collective (LA) Horde. The responsible productions are MJZ in the USA and Sourdoreille in France. Room With A View won in the categories Best Music Video, Idea, Direction, Cinematography and Editing.
Berlin Commercial honours the best and most innovative works in the three main categories Commercial Work, Music Videos and Personal Work. Projects from all over the world were submitted. An international jury consisting of around 40 top managers and creatives from national and international production companies and agencies such as Radical Media, Stink, Acne, CZAR, TBWA and KMB awarded a total of 39 prizes.
As managing director Philipp Ulita predicts for next year: “Bigger, faster, stronger, but still intimate and personal: With hopefully less restrictions we will be able to create events based on the experiences and network gained over the course of the past editions. Already started to plan...”
