Award-winning director Ben Quinn is joining Birth UK and Birth France, bringing a unique new talent to the international production company.

Beginning his career by building sets for the soap opera Home and Away to fund his fledgling career in music, Quinn soon set out to work on documentaries for the BBC like Horizon and the Human Body. That experience that not only took him in a new direction, it helped define the style of filmmaking that he has brought to all kinds of projects, like adapting Coriolanus alongside actor and director Ralph Fiennes, directing the short film I Missed my Mother’s Funeral starring Brian Cox, which played to great acclaim in festivals worldwide and was shortlisted for a BAFTA.

He has worked with leading global brands such as Nike, Reebok, Coke, Subaru, Tumi, Samsung and others, and his film for Dick’s Sporting Goods, Fifth Wards Saints won numerous awards, including an AICP and a Clio.

Quinn has also directed work for the humanitarian project, The Elders and Samantha Morton’s Help Give Them a Voice for COI, a campaign to social workers for vulnerable children, adults, and families, and most recently, Childhood Rules for Visit California.

"Quinn’s work is a rare mix of raw imagery with powerfully real performances, showing true understanding of the human perspective with humour and emotion. We are naturally delighted to welcome some a huge talent." said Kate Elson, Managing Director and Executive Producer, Birth UK.
