Bacon creates a fever dream for Röyksopp

A black box is defined as a complex system or device whose internal workings are hidden or not readily understood. 

And nothing seems more fitting to describe Ola Jacob Nestande’s chamber play of surrealism made for Röyksopp’s latest single from the upcoming album Profound Mysteries III.

Made fully with motion capture in an all-digital landscape, Nestande who is a VFX Supervisor at Bacon in Oslo, has created a hectic and haunting film meant to be digested as much viscerally as visually.

The film, entitled Black Box, is the latest in Bacon’s ongoing collaboration with Röyksopp, creating visuals for all the tracks on the Norwegian electronic duo’s three 2022 albums.
