Bacon adds director Bine Bach Damsgaard
The promising Danish comedy director joins the Scandinavian production company.
31-year-old Danish director Bine Bach Damsgaard is a Scandinavian director to watch. After working as a creative with Wieden + Kennedy New York, Damsgaard stepped out as a director on her own two years ago with an award-winning film for Danish department store Magasin.
Since then, she has done video content for Instagram phenom Leandra Medine Cohen and the much-hyped designer Gelareh Mizrahi, and her latest film for femcare innovators Billie has just been shortlisted for a Young Director Award. All of the above permeated by the promising Danish director's dead-pan humor.
Now, Bine Bach Damsgaard joins the roster of Scandinavian production powerhouse Bacon, and with that she becomes part of a unique crowd of world-class directors.
"Bine is a director we have kept our eye on for some time now, as we adore her voice, her outstanding funny bone and creative energy. We are certain that these qualities will translate into great films both locally and internationally, so it is a pleasure to announce her as an official part of the Bacon family," says Mette Jermiin, MD and EP at Bacon.
Joining Bacon on the heels of her YDA shortlist, Bine Bach Damsgaard is eager to try out her talents on a larger scale.
"It's so sick to be a part of Bacon. There is such quality to all Bacon productions, and you can really see the range and differences in their directors, which I admire. They are also strong on top-shelf comedy. It's going to be great working with the entire team," Bine Bach Damsgaard says.
