Straddling the seemingly disparate worlds of country music and the LGBTQIA+ community, Orville Peck has built a career on contrast, something that sits at the heart of his latest video, Already Gone.

Backed by an autobiographical track detailing his suicide attempt and subsequent journey through treatment, Austin Peters' latest collaboration with the artist sees the rigidity of rehab contrasted with the expressiveness of musicals; Peck and his fellow residents bursting into choreographed dance at selected moments.

Whilst the combination of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Singin' in the Rain shouldn't work, the effect is genuinely powerful, presenting a heartfelt rendering of Peck's recent history that is given extra weight by the film's closing message, directing those struggling to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline and The Trevor Project.
