Congratulations on winning Audio Company of the Year; why do you think the last 12 months has been so successful?

Thank you very much. It was an absolute honour to be crowned shots Audio Company of 2019 - proper MEGA!

Big thanks must go out to all our friends and clients for giving us such amazing projects to work on. We put a lot of love into what we do and I think you can see that in what we produce year on year.

I think the UK is home to some of the best sound design talent on the planet.

How would you describe Factory's approach to the business and its output?

We’ve been doing what we do for 23 years now and I think our ethos has been the same from the outset - have fun, collaborate with great people, be nice along the way and don’t be a dick.

What marks you out from your peers?

I think the UK is home to some of the best sound design talent on the planet, creating amazing things that continue to set the bar.

The world of audio content offers so much scope in terms of creating and executing brilliant ideas.

For us, we just try to enhance great story-telling by creating great sound design. We strive to make stuff that gives you the proper ‘feels’.

The production and post landscape has been a constantly evolving beast over recent years; how have you adapted to those changes?

As Daft Punk once said… ‘Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.’

Above: Anthony Moore founding partner and creative director at Factory.

Do you see more evolution on the horizon and, if so, what shape do you think it might take?

Most definitely. Our industry is constantly evolving and sound design is as important as ever because our audiences expect impeccable sound.

The world of audio content offers so much scope in terms of creating and executing brilliant ideas that I think we’ll see some interesting developments in that area.

We’re always on the lookout for exciting people with a fresh outlook and an insatiable passion for sound - that’s the key.

In terms of what shape this will all take, I’d go for a triangle.

What have been the biggest challenges for you guys - and in sound/mixing in general - over the last 12 months?

The closure of our local Yoobi in Market Place.

They are the guys that do those awesome sushi hand rolls.

That hit advertising pretty hard.

How do you find and nurture new talent? Has it changed at all in recent years?

Our ethos has always been to grow talent from within and I think that’s testament to the amazing team we have created at Factory, many of whom have been with us since the start of their careers.

This honour is a big way to say thank you to our wonderful team here at Factory.

We’re always on the lookout for exciting people with a fresh outlook and an insatiable passion for sound - that’s the key.

How important is recognition for the work you produce, and what does winning the Audio Company of the Year mean for you?

This honour is a big way to say thank you to our wonderful team here at Factory.

It’s a real team effort and every single person has played a part in helping us achieve this success.

Thank you gang - you bloody ROCK!

What are your hopes and plans for Factory across 2020?

We’ve got some super exciting projects bubbling away that we’ll be able to talk more about next year - big up the NDA crew!

But, we’re aiming to break some new ground, making some fun stuff that will hopefully surprise a few people.
