Created by TBWA\Media Arts Lab and directed by Bai Xue through Shooting Gallery, this wholesome and beautifully crafted short film for tech brand Apple tells the story of two characters who find comfort in each other at Chinese New Year.
Seamlessly weaving soulful, textural stop-motion animation with live-action sequences shot on the iPhone 17 Pro, Glad I Met You centres around a downtrodden young woman named Lin Wei, who struggles with chronic and debilitating people pleasing.
As the heartwarming story progresses with comedic twists and turns, Lin Wei finds herself entangled in the responsibility of feeding her colleague’s hamster while helping a lost dog, Little White, find his way home. In an unexpected and tender turn of events, both characters end up learning from each other and entering the new year with a more positive outlook on life.
