As a director, Amit Mehta is drawn toward the awkward, the absurd, the awkwardly absurd and the absurdly awkward which he brings to view-finder's roster. He has a passion for performance minimalism rooted in character and situation. His introduction to commercials came as the assistant to renowned comedy director Craig Gillespie, who became an exceptional mentor to Amit. A collaboration with Goodby, Silverstein & Partners on a Comcast campaign marked Amit’s first foray into directing spots.

Amit’s BMW spots “The Close Call” and “The Big Grab” were enjoyed by Super Bowl XLVI audiences, with the latter earning a best-of nod from TIME Magazine Entertainment.

His “Benny the Bull” spot for ESPN/Taken 2 won two Golds at the 2013 PromaxBDA Awards.

Mehta is repped by Interrogate in the US, :Thirty in Canada and by view-finder everywhere else.
