When discrimination is expected, many survivors don’t reach out for help, even when there are resources available to them.

A woman walks home in the dark, arms crossed, eyes down. Every loud noise or interaction causes her to flinch, and she’s overwhelmed by the noises of the city around her. As she walks, words of hate and transphobia appear on-screen, assaulting her over and over as she passes by them.

Actress and model Leyna Bloom stars in Walk. Director Samantha Scaffidi, who previously directed the YDA-award winning Wait, also for RAINN, says “It was always my desire to create a series of films addressing these issues,” says Scaffidi. “Each film enables us to show how a collective, universal trauma can affect different individuals and groups disproportionately.” SMUGGLER produced both films.
