Watch out Uber, there's a new ride-hailing app in town. Kapten, previously known as Chauffeur Privé, is aiming to break the monopoly in France with a humorous three-spot campaign created by FamousGrey Paris.
At Least He Took A Kapten, directed by Bart Timmer via Henry, follows the stories of three people who get out of their Kapten car to find themselves in some sticky situations... Think a clown who arrives at a bank in the aftermath of a robbery, an amorous guy who takes a girl back to his flat without realising he's got company, and the owner of an enormous hooter who wakes up to find there's been a terrible mix-up in surgery.
As a brand message, it sort of works - it's all about the journey, not the destination - although it might also suggest that taking a Kapten could land you in a bit of a tight spot.
