Maribou State: Kingdom

This new promo directed by David Horsburgh through Agile Films brings to life Maribou State’s Kingdom (feat. North Downs). Drawing on the themes of their recent album Kingdoms In Colour, the visuals build a ‘universe of picture postcards in bloom'. “We wanted to create a video that echoed the track’s themes of travel and exploration,” explains Horsburgh, “playing with the ways in which people travelling can change and transform landscapes as well as themselves. So a mixed media collage approach really spoke to us; sourcing vintage footage from creative commons sources and then subverting it with VFX to turn it into something new. The flower motif from the band’s album artwork was the inspiration for the flowers that grow throughout the video; out of canyons, eyes and even on the moon!”
