Irn-Bru: The Snowman: The Sequel
12 years after Irn-Bru cheekily reworked a classic Christmas kids' story to promote Scotland's unofficial drink, the little boy returns to reclaim his can of the orange stuff from the Snowman.
12 years after Irn-Bru cheekily reworked a classic Christmas kids' story to promote Scotland's unofficial drink, the little boy returns to reclaim his can of the orange stuff from the Snowman.
Created by The Leith Agency, and directed by Rob Shaw, who were behind the original ad, the sequel takes in Scottish landmarks such as the SSE Hydro, the Kelpies, Dundee's new V&A museum and Edinburgh Castle, as our hero pursues the thief by propellor plane. But, just as he's about to take back what's rightfully his, Santa swoops in for a shocking coup.
Though disgruntled consumers have been quick to point out that since Irn-Bru changed its formula, the drink is less of a prize to fight over, the spot nonetheless fizzes with nostalgia and wit, and stays faithful to the original's hand-drawn animation style.
