Leo Burnett London has created two refreshingly relatable ads for McDonald’s and UberEATS depicting how saving time on a take-out can reap rewards; continuing the stories championing 'small moments' that it used in McDonald's campaigns earlier this year. Sensitively directed by Tony Barry at Knucklehead, these two 60-second spots promote the fast-food giant's relationship with UberEATS.

The spots feature two very naturalistic situations, intimately filmed and driven by superb scores from music and sound design company Finger Music.

Passing Ships (above) reveals the challenges of a couple whose vastly different work schedules mean there are rare special moments together. It’s a nicely judged love story led by a deliciously, bittersweet song composed by Anthony Adams and performed by up-and-coming singer Lulla.

McDonald's: Play Date

Play Date tells the story of a frazzled dad having to entertain a bunch of excitable tots. At first, the spot almost resembles an IKEA ad as the beleagured parent tries to prevent rampaging rascals wrecking a beautiful home. Ultimately, it’s clear Dad is going to take control of the chaos by ordering in and getting a bit of McDonald’s ‘me-time’. Musicians Christopher Phelps and Sam Burden have created an upbeat folky score that captures the kiddies’ frenzied energy.
