Marking the release of Ubisoft’s new toys-to-life video game, Starlink: Battle for Atlas, BBDO Paris and director Dan diFelice through Wanda, have created a campaign film that draws inspiration from classic sci-fi films to celebrate the message ‘Give your imagination some space’.
The toys-to-life genre, in which physical toys combine with virtual video, had gone out of fashion and was largely viewed as a way to sell merchandise, but Ubisoft looks set to change all that with a game that encourages players to unleash their creativity and blend the virtual and real worlds in thriling adventures in outer space. By customising their own modular toys – designing ships, weapons and pilots – players' creations can then appear in real time in the digital world and interact with their avatars.
