Seattleites who’ve flown the nest are being urged to fly home again in this new campaign for Delta airlines out of Wieden+Kennedy New York, produced by Mass Appeal.
It might seem a little ‘naggy’, but it’s a fun way to promote Delta’s global Seattle network: mothers of the many young people who've moved to the city have been given a platform to persuade their offspring to visit more often by taking advantage of Delta's growing network of flights out of Seattle.
The campaign includes filmed stunts in which unsuspecting Seattleites are ambushed by a (borderline creepy, it must be said) gaggle of looky-likey mums delivering Delta plane tickets home and 'real mum' on the end of a phone.
There are also posters featuring actual mums with their kids accompanied by gooey handwritten notes reminding the wayward offspring to visit. The messages will appear across the city on billboards, storefronts, local bars and hot spots.
“Given its status as a hub for technology, innovation and culture, Seattle draws people from across the globe – and often that means moving quite far from home,” says Tony Gonchar, Delta’s vice president Seattle. “Our campaign reminds Seattleites to stay connected to the people and places that matter most to them.”
