What’s the best ad campaign you’ve seen recently?

I’m a sucker for nostalgia, so I’m appreciating the Money Supermarket ads with He Man and Skeletor's Dirty Dancing tribute as well as the Action Man musical number.

What website(s) do you use most regularly and why?

Amazon because I’m forever buying books for research. Flavorwire because they unearth some treasure and Atlas Obscura because every now and again my mind gets blown.

What’s the most recent piece of tech that you’ve bought and why?

A case for my iPhone 7, but prior to that I bought a stand-up desk and a stand to bring my Mac to eye level. Game officially changed: I’m not quite the hunchback I thought I was.

Facebook, Instagram or Twitter?

I’ve flirted with Instagram and touched on Twitter but to be honest, they all drive me slightly mad. Distracting the world for what? The necessity for immediate and primarily bollocks information. It's nice to see your pals now and again but I would prefer to actually see them. Public houses = 1100 years of social media.

What’s your favourite app on your phone and why?

Artemis for work. A lovely pal bought it for me and it is rather handy. I love a bit of Wunderlist too when the organisational part of my brain kicks in.

What’s your favourite TV show and why?

So tough. I’m only now discovering most of the shows I missed over the past couple of decades. Just about to start Season 4 of The Sopranos. I loved True Detective season one [below], Happy Valley and Gomorrah.

What film do you think everyone should have seen?

Jaws. End of.

Where were you when inspiration last struck?

With my kids today.

What’s the most significant change you’ve witnessed in the industry since you started working in it?

Technology. The ability to do pretty much everything you need to do on one device.

If there was one thing you could change about the advertising industry, what would it be?

Re-introduce comedy legends Leonard Rossiter and the Martini campaign - those old school classics.

What or who has most influenced your career and why?

My overbearing love of cinema and my closest pal.

Tell us one thing about yourself that most people won’t know...

I started my career proper working as a runner for Guy Ritchie (and Matt Vaughn at Ska). I was supposed to do a week on post production of Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, but ended up working with Guy for about 13 years.
