This haunting promo for Montreal electro-pop singer Charlotte Cardin's latest track is a stark reminder of the long shadow cast by substance abuse.

Agile Films' Kristof Brandl started his career as a DOP, which shows in the video's stunning cinematography. Shot entirely in black-and-white, it tells the story of a young boy growing up with drug-addicted parents, and how the terrible things he witnesses during his early years eventually shape and scar him as an adult. Bleak but compelling viewing.
