Family is Family, Say Unicef & FCB Inferno

Who do you count as family? Your mum and dad, sure, but what about the sister who answers your late night phone calls and tells you the difficult truth? Or the brother who winds you up with corny jokes, but is always there for you, no matter what? 

Most of us see our older siblings, aunts and uncles as family, but under the UK's current refugee family reunion laws, they're excluded from that definition - meaning that vulnerable children have to make their own way to Europe to be able to reunite with aunts, uncles, grandparents and older siblings waiting for them in the UK.

To tackle the issue and stop child refugees risking their lives with traffickers and smugglers, Unicef UK and FCB Inferno have created four films - I AM SISTER [top]; I AM BROTHER [below]; I AM AUNT and I AM UNCLE - celebrating the vital roles played by extended family members, and calling on the UK government to stop keeping families apart.

Directed by William Williamson through Archer's Mark, the quartet of films, which have been released as part of Unicef's A Child is a Child campaign, portray the complex, touching relationships between family members through video montages voiced over by real-life refugees, ending with a call to the public to sign a petition asking for the law to be changed.
