When London was bidding to host the Olympic Games for 2012 the campaign was spearheaded by the official slogan 'Inspire a Generation'. Five years after the event, London has found itself as the host city for the 2017 World Championships in Athletics where the 'inspired generation' are taking centre stage.

In 2012, London-born twin sisters Lina and Laviai Nielsen stood on the Olympic track as kit-carriers - Laviai stood behind Olympic gold medallist Jessica Ennis-Hill on the track. Five years later, the sisters, inspired by the London Games found themselves chasing their dreams of running at the same stadium for the World Championships.

Written and directed by Matt Houghton as a passion project, Lina/Laviai is a short documentary that focuses on the pair's unique bond as they attempt to take athletics to the next level.

In addition to the film, Houghton also created a photo-series around the film, which can be seen here.

To find out more about the film keep your eyes out for an interview with Matt Houghton coming soon.
