How do you best show in an advert that your brand is dedicated to saving their users money? According to Cossette and Public Mobile, by showing the brand saving money, eschewing an expensive advertising campaign featuring exotic locations and special effects for the audition tapes of actors wanting to get into those ads.

Across four ads, named Audition Tape 7, 10, 16 and 25 [compilation of all four above], we see actors imagining themselves in scenes involving paragliding, dancing, rock climbing, and sightseeing at Niagara Falls.

A Public Mobile spokesperson describes the idea behind the ad; "The tongue-in-cheek campaign shines a spotlight on the unnecessary extras Public Mobile doesn’t offer to show how they keep their rates so low.  Instead of providing ... big budget advertising campaigns, Public Mobile would rather operate with fewer frills and keep costs low for their customers. Since Public Mobile has trimmed its advertising budget, shooting a commercial would have been too expensive."

The ad is just one part of the brand's new Less is Less campaign. Also included in this campaign is a sole billboard in Toronto, which says “This is our only billboard. We need it to say a lot.” before listing all the benefits of Public Mobile.
