The Sex Pistols/Public Image Ltd. frontman explains where he got his nickname from in ad for oral care company Happybrush from Amsterdam Berlin.
Eight years after receiving industrial amounts of flack (or should that be plaque? No, probably not) for appearing in a series of butter adverts, the artist formerly known as Johnny Rotten and now known as John Lydon or 'you know, the one who got headbutted by an ostrich on I'm a Celebrity', now talks about his rotten teeth in an ad for toothbrush-and-paste company Happybrush.
As he explains in the video, directed by Moritz Grub of Amsterdam Berlin, the moniker Johnny Rotten came from those teeth, which at their worst were actually green, and led to him suffering from blood poisoning. Why were they so decayed? Probably because he said Never Mind the Brushes (thank you, here all week.)
