We’ve heard that man’s best friend is a dog, but who knew that the bond between man and cat could be equally as strong, if not stronger?

Almap BBDO is behind Iris and Thula, a two-and-a-half-minute documentary-inspired spot for WHISKAS, which marks the brand’s first work for its new campaign, Feed Their Curiosity – which features cats with uniquely curious personalities.

In the spot, eight-year-old Iris who suffers from severe autism struggles to interact with the world around her, appearing isolated and alone in locations that are usually heavily-populated – like the playground, the swimming pool and the dinner table.

 

 

Once Thula the cat enters her life, the two find a way to relate to each other, much to the astonishment and relief of Iris’ family.

The beautifully-shot spot from Claudio Borrelli unfolds without any dialogue, instead allowing music to narrate the story of their friendship and show how Thula (cat) has helped Iris (child) to interact more with the world around her.
