IBWOMEN and McCann highlight the gender pay gap with a mockumentary-style spot set in the one industry where women are paid more than men; pornography.
In Obscene Gap (which might itself be a title from the world of pornography...), directed by Sega Y Fede of Lee Films, McCann Madrid film men in typical adult movie get-ups about how unfair it is that they get paid 30% than their female co-stars. Poor pizza-boys, plumbers and ranchers.
Meanwhile, in the real world, where pizza deliverers are spotty teens and plumbers are bulky hirstute and middle-aged, it's women who are being paid less than men, a fact far more obscene than the average person's internet browsing history.
In the Spain that is McCann Madrid's home, for example, women get paid 81 cents for every Euro earned by a man, with other European countries not much better. So either we can go for a bikini wax and go for a role in your nearest blue movie, or we can try to make changes in the real world...
