Nine US states (Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Mississippi, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin) currently have 'campus carry' laws, allowing people to carry guns on the grounds of educational establishments. To draw attention to this, Texan student group Cocks Not Glocks worked with FCB New York to create Student Body Armour, a video and campus stunt featuring a booth selling university-branded bulletproof vests and other body armours.
In the video [above], directed by Ben Starkman of Think Tank Films, they show the full range of fake products, from Kevlar-enforced tees to the full bomb defusal suit known as a 'hurt locker', all in the orange and white of the University of Texas school colours. The video then goes on to say where concerned students can contact their congressmen to protest the law that allows people to openly carry weapons across their campuses and classrooms.
This stunt and campaign follows on from the one that gave Cocks Not Glocks their name. Following the passing of campus carry law, students were encouraged by the group to carry dildos around, highlighting the absurdity that this act was illegal, but carrying a gun was not.
