Don’t Do It Yourself says Sid Lee
Why would you even try and DIY it when you can rely on a professional (from PagesJaunes) to do it? Just why?!
Why Do It Yourself when you get someone professional from PagesJaunes – the French equivalent of Yellow Pages – to do it for you? At least that’s the premise behind Sid Lee’s latest ad.
Helmed by Hugo Kerr, the campaign sees three vloggers present a new approach to their usual videos.
Rather than teach their fans how to do something themselves, the three bloggers – French YouTube stars FastGoodCuisine, Jenesuispasjolie and Sananas – head to the professionals to receive the desired results. And in turn, promote the many skills of PagesJaunes' professionals.
The tongue-in-cheek spots are satirical as they adopt a similar approach to the YouTuber's usual video format. While the campaign also comes with a Don’t DIY box, complete with plasters, gauzes and of course, the all-essential emergency foil blanket, to encourage any would-be DIYers against doing any handiwork.
