powered byWelsh independent videogame publisher Wales Interactive has released the trailer for Late Shift.
Developed by CtrlMovie, and written by Tobias Weber and Michael Robert Johnson, Late Shift tells the tale of mathematics student Matt, who is thrust into London’s dark and brutal underworld after being forced into a heist-gone-wrong.
Unlike traditional narrative driven entertainment however, Late Shift blends movies, games and interactive storytelling by putting the player in control of the action, allowing them to change the flow of the crime thriller.
With each and every decision affecting the narrative – there are over 180 decision points and seven different endings - the player is put at the centre of their very own story.
Originally released as an app last year, the game will be released across PS4, Xbox and Steam in April 2017.
Interestingly, the release of the trailer coincides with Netflix’s announcement they are investigating the possibility of interactive TV shows – so it will be interesting to see how far the traditional distinctions will blur.
