Somesuch turn to the French New Wave to inspire a ‘travel state of mind’ in UK holiday-goers for Eurostar.
For Travel State of Mind, directed by Somesuch’s Kim Gehrig, a French man takes us through five definitions of what that title phrase means, like ‘ask a local, not your phone’. However, rather than the sub-par Buzzfeed article that suggests, instead we get something closer to the chapters of a French New Wave film.
In a press release, Somesuch particularly mention the madcap cinematic magic of Louis Malle’s Zazie dans le Metro, but also apparent are references to the work of Godard and Agnes Varda’s Cleo from 5 to 7.
This 60-second ad will be joined by a 30-second sister from today in the UK across TV, VOD, and social media, beginning a new campaign built around the ad slogan which will continue into Belgium and France in March. The campaign will also include content built with Facebook Canvas asking customers to create their own travel state of mind.
