With two days to go until the entry deadline for this year’s D&AD Next Awards, they have released their ad campaign for this year’s ceremony.

Created by Piloto for F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi, the film, named Every Pixel Counts, is a stop-motion piece created using 500 acrylic pieces, arranged in various moving patterns representing the pixels of the tile. This has then been overlaid with voiceover from rapper Dru Barnes.
 


In a press release, Piloto discussed how they put together the film, noting that, ‘we created the motion scenes on the computer, trying to find graphic patterns in movement, and then repeated them manually on the animation table, forming a ballet of pixels.’

Also to be released is a series of linked videos featuring Barnes rapping over more pixel animations. These animations will be released across their social media from now until the closing time for entries on February 22.

F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi creative directors Rodirigo Castellari and Pedro Prado also recorded a behind the scenes film that takes us (you guessed it) behind the scenes of Every Pixel Counts. You can watch that below:
