Hang on, I think I've got something in my eye. Must be some dirt or grit or something. It's definitely not because this new short film from stationary store Take Note has got to me. Definitely not.

Ok, that's better. Where was I? Ah, yes, so it's almost Valentine's Day and this four-minute short from BBDO Toronto is as romantic as anything you might hope to see at this time of year. However, rather than all-out schmaltz the film tells the story of a relationship - from beginning to end, through good and bad - via notes left by each person for the other. Eschewing the modern-day approach of digital discussions the film, understandably given the client, embraces old fashion pen and ink.

“Leaving a note for someone is so much more personal and thoughtful than a text,” says Chris Booth, an associate creative director (and also co-director, with fellow creative Joel Pylypiw)  behind the work. “We wanted to remind people how meaningful such a simple thing can be.”
