SNSM: The Mermaid

SNSM (the National Maritime Rescue Organisation), Publicis Conseil and Wizz directors Flying V collaborate on a witty animation to promote maritime safety.

You can tell right away that there’s something a bit fishy about the mermaid protagonist of this charming tale. As she dreams of luring a sunken sailor to her watery lair, her attempts are finally foiled by the mariner overboard wisely sporting a life jacket that prevents him sinking to her level.

The film is the result of nine months of hard graft from Gary Levesque and Clement Soulmagnon, aka Flying V, plus nearly 25 graphic designers and 3D animators, along with Publicis Conseil’s creative team. The story is set to a sweet song – Tobias Jesso's Without You.

The campaign airs on TV, cinema, digital, and digital outdoor and aims to raise awareness of, and funds for, the SNSM, which, each year, launches nearly 5,200 interventions and rescues nearly 8,000 people off the French coast.
