Produced by Anonymous Content, directed by Neill Blomkamp, BMW releases The Escape, a new 13-minute film starring Clive Owen.
It’s taken a while, but at last Clive Owen is back, smouldering behind the wheel in a hugely enjoyable branded film for BMW created with agency Geisel Productions. Owen reprises his role as the enigmatic Driver, which he created a full 15 years ago, when the auto brand teamed with Fallon to create The Hire, a series of eight short films that set the standard for branded content to come.
An exhilarating ride, The Escape, is set in a world of cloning and rogue security firms nicking replicants, the Driver being tasked with delivering a winsome clone, Lilly, played by Dakota Fanning, to safety. Amid the mayhem of helicopters and Humvees in pursuit, and shouty men with guns, the Driver seems to develop a connection to Lily, proving the old adage that you’re never alone with a clone…
