David Bowie’s contribution to popular culture knows no limits, even in death.

While many would find working after death almost impossible, the Ziggy Stardust singer – as always – proves exception to the rule as his latest chart topping album, ★ (pronounced Blackstar), will be transformed into an online mini-series with the help of Instagram’s InstaMiniSeries channel.

Prior to his death, Bowie agreed that his 28th studio album could be used as inspiration for a 16-part series titled UNBOUND: A ★ InstaMiniSeries (trailer below).

"UNBOUND: A ★ InstaMiniSeries” In the Fall of 2015, David Bowie gave us unique pre-release access to the music from ★ (pronounced ‘Blackstar’), his 28th studio album, allowing us to create our own visual interpretations of his songs, with no limits or preconditions on his part. Completed in December 2015, UNBOUND: A★InstaMiniSeries takes the audience on a journey of evocative images inspired by the moods suggested in the album’s music, lyrics and artwork. Each episode of the series is sure to capture the imaginations of all who experience it and will undoubtedly lead to endless speculation and discussion of meaning, metaphor and intention. We are honored to have had this opportunity and hope you'll join our 16 episode series, premiering February 25th. New episode every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Using music and images from his album, the series reinterprets Bowie’s work visually and allows fans to find new meaning in his music – something Bowie consented to without any preconditions.

"David Bowie has always been about reinvention over repetition,” says InstaMiniSeries founder/EP Nikki Borges. “Remarkably honest and passionate in his work, his innovations have influenced our own work as we transform a social media platform into a creative outlet. We are grateful to have the opportunity to participate with the chameleonic rock icon and honoured to be entrusted with interpreting his art."

So, don’t forget to tune in this Thursday when the first episode will be available here by following @instaminiseries. Episodes will then be released every working day, except Wednesday.
